Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Office Engineer to join our consulting company based in Damascus. The Office Engineer will play a vital role in supporting engineering projects by providing administrative and technical assistance to project teams, coordinating project documentation, and ensuring smooth project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Documentation Management:
- Assist in the preparation, review, and distribution of project documentation, including drawings, specifications, contracts, and reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project files, records, and documentation in accordance with company standards and project requirements.
- Coordinate document control activities, including document numbering, version control, and distribution to project stakeholders.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support to project managers and engineering teams, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and drafting correspondence.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, bids, and contracts, including organizing and assembling proposal documents and supporting materials.
- Coordinate logistics for project meetings, workshops, and site visits, including arranging travel, accommodations, and meeting facilities.
- Technical Assistance:
- Assist in the review and interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with project engineers and designers to obtain information, clarify requirements, and resolve technical issues.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and deliverables for clients and project stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with project procedures, standards, and specifications by reviewing project documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established guidelines.
- Assist in the implementation of quality assurance processes and procedures to maintain high standards of project delivery.
- Participate in project audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Facilitate communication and coordination between project teams, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Serve as a liaison between the consulting company and external stakeholders, conveying information and addressing inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain open lines of communication with project stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues and effective project collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a consulting or engineering firm.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
