Job Title: Master Planner

Location: Abo Dhabi

Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Master Planner to join our consulting architectural company. The Master Planner will be responsible for leading the planning and design of large-scale urban development projects, including new communities, mixed-use developments, and urban regeneration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urban planning, architecture, and project management, with a passion for creating sustainable and livable environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Design:
    • Lead the planning and design of complex urban development projects from concept to completion.
    • Develop master plans, site plans, and urban design guidelines that integrate land use, transportation, infrastructure, and environmental considerations.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, landscape architects, and other professionals to develop innovative and cohesive design solutions.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement and Community Outreach:
    • Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, developers, and residents, to gather input and feedback on planning initiatives.
    • Facilitate public workshops, charrettes, and meetings to solicit community input and build consensus around planning and design proposals.
    • Develop communication materials and presentations to effectively convey planning concepts and proposals to diverse audiences.
  3. Regulatory Compliance and Permitting:
    • Ensure compliance with local zoning regulations, land use ordinances, and environmental regulations in the development of master plans and site designs.
    • Prepare and submit planning applications, environmental impact assessments, and permit applications to relevant regulatory agencies.
    • Coordinate with regulatory authorities and stakeholders to address any permitting issues or concerns that may arise during the planning and approval process.
  4. Project Management and Coordination:
    • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the planning and design process.
    • Monitor project progress and performance against established goals and objectives, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
  5. Sustainability and Resilience:
    • Integrate principles of sustainability, resilience, and smart growth into master plans and site designs to create environmentally friendly and resilient communities.
    • Incorporate green infrastructure, energy-efficient design strategies, and sustainable transportation solutions into planning and design proposals.
    • Advocate for sustainable development practices and policies that promote long-term environmental, social, and economic viability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of urban planning principles, land use regulations, and planning best practices.
  • Minimum of [10] years of experience in urban planning, master planning, or urban design, preferably in a consulting or architectural firm.
  • Proficiency in GIS, CAD, and other planning and design software.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
